American Horror Story has been a Halloween staple for almost a decade now. When the show first premiered in 2012, it was a pretty big deal. We weren’t yet as acclimated to seeing such audacious content on television, especially given how much the horror and sexuality of the series overlapped.

Whether you grew up watching the original Are You Afraid of the Dark or you just found the premise of the show interesting and decided to tune in for the opening night, a new Midnight Society has been formed for 2019.

Part One begins with the introduction of the main character Rachel. She’s new in town and nervous about fitting in at school. Luckily for Rachel, she quickly catches the eye of horror fan Graham. The Purge Season 2 premiere review: Is it worth watching?

In just a few days USA will debut the second season of its horror series The Purge. The sophomore season introduces some new elements to the franchise.

The Purge has turned into a surprising underdog in the world of horror franchises. Not many could have guessed that the first film, which received lukewarm reception, would spawn four movies and two seasons of television. A fifth film is also in the works.

But indeed it has. However, even for the most ardent franchise fans, we can admit that the series has grown stale in some regards. How many times can you watch people live lawless for a night before it becomes repetitive? That was one issue I had with the first season of USA’s take on the concept. It didn’t feel fresh or new.

Annabelle versus Chucky: Who is the scarier doll?

Deadly dolls are a hallmark of the horror franchise. But lately, there are two who are battling it out to be on top. Who is scarier? Chucky or Annabelle?

Two creepy dolls, two successful horror franchises, two chances to die indescribably terrifying ways. If you ask someone to name two dolls in horror they’re afraid of; they will undoubtedly list Chucky and Annabelle. These two aren’t the only freaky dolls out there lest we forget Blade, Brahms, Dolly Dearest, Billy the Puppet, and more.

But these days with Child’s Play getting a reboot and Annabelle the star of the unyielding The Conjuring franchise, it’s not hard to see why Annabelle and Chucky are often pitted against one another.

American Horror Story: Murder House: The one thing that still doesn’t make sense

We’re taking a walk down memory lane with a rewatch of American Horror Story: Murder House and contemplating one thing that still doesn’t make sense.

During a recent rewatch of American Horror Story: Murder House, I got to thinking a little bit about the logic behind the house’s ghostly inhabitants. For the most part, the rules are simple. We know that anyone who dies on the premises of the house cannot ever leave. Their ghosts will be doomed to haunt the place for eternity.

We also know that ghosts can change their appearance, or at least change their clothing. However, there is one ghost who doesn’t appear to fit into the rules of the house, and therefore it makes one wonder if perhaps she wasn’t entirely human when she died.
