Penny Dreadful spin-off will be a brand new beginning and that’s a good thing

The reaction to the Penny Dreadful follow-up series starting over in a new time period has drawn polarizing reactions from fans of the original, but I believe a fresh start could be just what the series needs.

When the Penny Dreadful sequel series was announced by Showtime I admit I was excited to see more tales from the dark corners of the 19th century and I was a little disappointed to find out that wouldn’t be the case.

New Amsterdam returns: Will Max survive the season?

Ryan Eggold’s performance as Max Goodwin is a big reason for New Amsterdam’s success. But will he survive until Season 2?

Max has throat cancer and in the midseason premiere, he was rushed to the New Amsterdam ER after collapsing on a dock while on a picnic with his wife Georgia. Prior to this medical emergency, no one was aware of Max’s condition apart from his doctor, friend, and confidante, Helen Sharpe, and Georgia.

Fam – Pilot – Review

Fam is one of the latest out of CBS’s new crop of sitcoms, I’m guessing they’re seeking for the next one to fill the void left behind by The Big Bang Theory when that comes to an end in a few months. Or even something to complement Mom or fill the space that 2 Broke Girls once filled.

Thus far, Fam isn’t as dark or sardonic in tone as either of the aforementioned sitcoms but it is pretty funny at times and the cast has enough chemistry that I’m interested to see what the show could grow into if it gets the chance.

The Rookie – The Standoff – Review: I Didn’t Know Rock Bottom Had a Basement

In the aftermath of Kyle holding John at gunpoint last week, we see him escape with his life due to Lucy’s help. She arrives just in time to shoot him although he hesitated a moment too long as well and lost his moment.

After getting abducted during the undercover drug deal gone wrong, Isabel is left abandoned in the trunk of a car with a bullet in the head. Surprisingly though, she’s still alive, but not in good condition. Tim rushes to her side.

The Gifted – meMento – Review: Reconciliation

We begin with Andreas von Strucker in 1985, New Orleans. He visits an antique shop to check on music box he was having fixed and swiftly murders the shopkeeper after he tries to goad Andreas into selling it – but also to keep the secret.

Present day, that same music box is playing quietly on Lauren’s bed as she studies the history of her lineage and Fenris. Reed is worried about her. She’s been obsessively researching and training since their fight at the Purifiers compound. He thinks something may have changed with her, that she could have been affected by fighting alongside Andy.
